Linda Laja - Antioquia - Colombia
Nimmica Finca
One roast. Many moments.
From our partners
Finca Linda Laja belongs to a family we have had the privilege of working with closely. Juan Jose - once an opera singer on European stages - returned to his grandfather land in Colombia after two decades abroad. His son Esteban, a barista and sensory coach trained in Copenhagen and Berlin, joined him. What started as a longing for home became one of the most honest micro-lots we have ever tasted.

The Origin
An opera singer, an abandoned farm, and a son who chose coffee.
Finca Linda Laja once belonged to Juan Jose his father. In the 1990s, violence forced the family to abandon it. The land lay fallow for years. Then Juan Jose, after two decades singing opera on European stages, felt the pull to return. Not to a stage, but to the earth. He found the farm and started again. Without a big plan. Just with a longing for home. His son Esteban grew up in Europe, trained as a barista, studied sensory science in Copenhagen, was part of the Berlin School of Coffee. When his father project took shape, Esteban saw his future in it. Together they built Finca Linda Laja into what it is today: 67 hectares, six natural water springs, ten hectares of protected rainforest, and coffee grown in a full agroforestry system. They started by exporting 300 kg packed by hand. Today they produce 8 tons a year. This is the farm behind Nimmica Finca.
After two decades on European stages, he came back to the land. Not to perform - to grow.Juan Jose Lopera - Finca Linda Laja, Antioquia
